Illustration: There are 172 Veteran Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs) aligned to 166 of the 181 Major Teaching Institutions (MTI). The geographical facility proximity coupled to the shared medical staff / training relationship is an active path which will provide the free flow of therapeutic solutions, innovative product introductions, adoptions and utilization. The VAMC example represents only one Federal channel overlap. There are multiple channels beyond the VAMC’s such as, 872 Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC’s) and 100+ Department of Defense (DoD) Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
